I read this book years ago in German and was quite impressed and lately I had a vague intention to read it again in the original text. And by chance – without looking for it – I found the complete book online and downloadable. Read what the author says himself in a foreword…
In presenting THE LIFE AND TEACHING OF THE MASTERS OF THE FAR EAST, I wish to state that I was one of a research party of eleven persons that visited the Far East in 1894.
During our stay—three and a half years—we contacted the Great Masters of the Himalayas, who aided us in the translation of the records, which was of great assistance in our research work. They permitted us to enter into their lives intimately and we were thus able to see the actual working of the great Law as demonstrated by them. We call them Masters, which is merely our name for them. One living the life described herein is entitled to reverence and consideration as a Master.
Records and manuscripts—our actual experience with the Masters—were preserved. Personally, at that time, I thought the world was not ready for this message. I was an independent member of the research party and I am now publishing my notes under the title Life And Teaching Of The Masters Of The Far East, with the thought that the reader may accept or reject, as he wishes.
This book, which will be followed by others of the Sun series, gives the first year’s experience of the expedition in relation to the Masters. It includes their teaching, which was taken by us stenographically at the time, with their permission and approved by them.
The Masters accept that Buddha represents the Way to Enlightenment, but they clearly set forth that Christ is Enlightenment, or a state of consciousness for which we are all seeking—the Christ light of every individual; therefore, the light of every child that is born into the world.

Ever wonder how lucky or unlucky you are? Or do you think that whatever success or failure you’ve had had nothing to do with luck at all?
Well, if the quantum world has anything to do with it, not a single moment has passed without Lady Luck looking over your shoulder as you attempt to draw to that inside straight called the game of life. But if the quantum world has anything to say about it, there is a way to beat Lady Luck at her game. All you need to do is look vigilantly and carefully at the world – and take action with that same care and vigilance.
Quantum physics is the theory of the behavior of matter and energy, particularly at the level of atoms and subatomic particles. It is nearly impossible to imagine the strange behavior of matter at this level using our common sense. An electron in an atom, for example, performs a trick much like the crew aboard Star Trek’s U.S.S. Enterprise when it “beams” from one energy level to another. It simply jumps from one place to another without passing in between.
If we aren’t watching this electron jump, then we have no control as to when this will happen. But suppose we do watch? Ah, that changes everything.
The quantum physical worldview is very different from the way in which we have become accustomed to looking at the world. In our ordinary, everyday lives, this difference seems very slight. But if current experiments in quantum physics are relevant to our everyday experiences, you can actually alter the crapshoot of life, so long as you begin seeing things quantum mechanically, and take appropriate action in doing so.According to quantum physics, there is no reality until that reality is perceived. We call this “the observer effect.” Because we don’t typically pay attention to ourselves in the perception process, our immediate experience usually will not appear to show how our act of perception changed anything. However, if we construct a careful history of our perceptions, it will often show us that our way of perceiving did indeed change the course of our personal history.
This may make sense to you when looking at something new and deciding what it means. But you may wonder, “I’m not actually changing reality, am I? I’m just changing my interpretation of reality.” The answer, as surprising as it may seem, is that you are in fact changing reality by the manner you go about observing it.
In the world described successfully by quantum mechanics, observers ultimately and fundamentally affect the universe whenever they observe it or anything in it. This is so because it is not possible to observe everything about reality in any observation. If we refine our ability to see by looking at atomic and subatomic processes, this realization would be very apparent and the different possibilities would be quite magnified and astonishing to our normal way of seeing.
Take the old proverb “a watched pot never boils.” Now imagine a tiny quantum-sized pot of water being heated on a really tiny stove. We all know that heated pots of water will in fact come to a boil, given a little time. You would certainly think that a watched quantum pot would also boil. It turns out, however, that if you vigilantly watch the pot, it will never boil. In fact, all vigilantly watched “quantum pots” refuse to boil, even if they are heated forever.
The only requirement for this to happen is that observers must have the intent to see the object – in this case, the quantum pot – in its initial state by persistently observing it the same way in each moment of observation. This intent is determined by the frequency of their observations. They must look repeatedly, in very short time intervals – and if they do, they find the object in the same state as it was the last time they looked.
Suppose a physicist doesn’t watch vigilantly. Or suppose that she or he does, but does so with the intent of seeing the situation evolve naturally. Then what? If the physicist looks intermittently, expecting it to boil eventually, the pot will follow its natural unobserved course and will boil. These observations, because they are infrequent, have little effect on the natural result. Or, if they wish, the physicists may vigilantly observe the object along its natural evolution by narrowing their vision to observe only pots that have reached the expected goals at the appropriate times. In other words, a watched pot boils if you intend it to.
I’m referring here to boiling pots of water, but I’m sure you see how the principle applies to your life, to the pursuits and aims you care about in your life, and to the power of your consistent intent.
I must point out here that “intents” and “intentions” are not the same things. Intent refers to a vigorous action of vigilant observation along a specific path of evolution. It matters little what you hope for or even what you passively expect will happen. You need to actively pursue your vision in order to manifest your intent in the physical world, not passively dream about it or simply hope it will come true.
Thus, intent requires a quantum physical basis, a basis that in our own everyday lives looks like this: hard work with lots of desire.
If this “watched-pot” theory turns out to be as true at the human level of our everyday achievements, then our desires and the actions that accompany them are what actually govern our daily lives.

From the highest authority there will be attempts to scare the human beings in the duality in order to keep the human beings small. There will be energetic processes that nobody will understand. It is all the more important that you are in your power. For when you understand that you bear the might to achieve anything in your divine core then you can give everything. When you can take all the presents and gifts you can also pass them on. Each single one of you is of the utmost importance in these times.

Ihr werdet geliebt, und zwar weit über euer Verständnis von Liebe hinaus, denn jeder von euch ist nie als etwas anderes gesehen worden als ein Gott, der mühsam darum ringt zu verstehen, wer und was er ist.
Auf Eurer Abenteuerreise in die Erforschung des Gedankens habt ihr es gewählt, euch mittels der zellularen Form, genannt Mensch, auszudrücken, damit ihr alles lernen könntet, was es von der menschlichen Erfahrung zu lernen gibt – also, vom in der begrenzten Form der Materie lebenden Gott.
Diese Erfahrung ist zum vollständigen Verständnis von Gott notwendig. Denn wie könnt ihr Un-begrenztheit verstehen, wenn ihr nicht zuvor Begrenztheit erfahren und verstanden habt? Wie könnt ihr die Gesamtheit eurer selbst, des Gottes, der ihr seid, verstehen, wenn ihr nicht zuvor die Gesamtheit dessen, was Gott ist, erfahren und umarmt habt – angefangen von der wilden Ausdehnung eines reinen Gedankens bis hin zur Eingeschränktheit der Materie. Wie könnt ihr Freude, Freiheit und Ewigkeit verstehen, wenn ihr nicht Kummer, Begrenztheit und die Illusion des Todes erfahren habt?
Wenn ihr auch eure Spiele und Illusionen mit großem und schrecklichem Ernst durchspielt, so sind sie wirklich nur dazu da, um euch zu lehren, um euch zu erweitern, um euch zu erleuchten – um Euch dabei zu helfen, euch zu verstehen. Dieses Leben ist einfach eine Bühne, auf der eure Spiele gespielt und eure Illusionen erlebt werden können, um des höchsten Lohnes des Lebens willen: Weisheit.
Was ist Weisheit? Sie ist ein wundervoller Schatz, der in der Seele des Menschen gesammelt wird. Weisheit ist die Sammlung von Gefühlen, gewonnen aus all euren Abenteuerreisen hinein in die Gefilde des Gedankens, genannt Gott, und sie ist das einzige, was ihr mit euch nehmt, wenn ihr diesen Ort hier verlasst. Denkt ihr etwa, ihr würdet eure wunderbaren Kleider oder eure prächtigen Paläste oder eure Automobile, die sehr schnell fahren, mitnehmen? Was denkt ihr, dass ihr mitnehmt? Ihr nehmt nur das mit euch, was ihr seid – all jene Gefühle, die ihr aus eurer Reise hinein in das Prinzip genannt Leben gewonnen habt. Gefühle – um sie geht es im Leben.
Alles, was die Menschheit gelernt hat durch die Tyrannei und die Eingeschränktheit religiöser und weltlicher Herrschaft, durch die Spaltung und Herabwürdigung der Rassen, durch die Spaltung zwischen Männern und Frauen, zwischen Bruder und Bruder, ist gelernt worden durch die vielleicht größte Erniedrigung Gottes, die es je gegeben hat. Doch ihr hättet nie gewusst, wie es sich anfühlt, einen anderen in einer Schlacht zu besiegen, einem anderen die Freiheit zu verweigern, Frauen auf eine niedrigere Stufe zu stellen und sie zu weniger wert zu machen als die Männer, wenn ihr nicht die Erfahrungen all jener Dinge emotional verstanden, wenn ihr nicht zuerst zu dem Schöpfer geworden wäret, der sie in eine Wirklichkeit hineinträumte und dann den Traum entschlossen lebte. Dadurch jedoch, dass ihr den Traum Leben um Leben, Augenblick für Augenblick, gelebt habt, ist er zu solch einer festen Wirklichkeit geworden, dass die meisten von euch neurotisch und unsicher geworden sind und sich vollständig in dem Traum verloren haben.
Wo ist dieser Gott, fragt ihr, der es zulässt, dass die Menschheit so bestialisch zu sich selbst ist? Und wo ist schließlich und endlich die Liebe Gottes, wenn er gestattet hat, dass all diese Greueltaten geschehen? Nun, Gott ist die ganze Zeit über da gewesen, denn er war all eure Illusionen und all eure Spiele. Und natürlich hat euch Gott die ganze Zeit über geliebt, denn er hat euch erlaubt, eure Träume gemäß euren eigenen Entwürfen zu erfahren. Ihr habt schlicht und einfach vergessen, dass ihr die Wahlmöglichkeit habt, sie zu jedem von euch gewählten Zeitpunkt zu ändern.
Ihr webt Geschichten von großem Leid und großer Traurigkeit aus euren Illusionen. Ihr verhaltet euch zerstörerisch eurem Körper gegenüber. Ihr entledigt euch eures Verstandes. Ihr verehrt Idole. Ihr seid anderen gegenüber kritisch. Ihr seid urteilend, hasserfüllt, besitzergreifend, ängstlich und, in der Tat, überheblich. Und dennoch, zu welchem Zweck? Um zu verstehen, wie es ist, all diese Dinge zu sein. Was ist das Endergebnis? Niemals zu sterben, sondern ewig zu leben; zu verstehen und zu umarmen, was man das Königreich des Himmels nennt; auf euer eigenes Gesicht zu blicken… und zu erkennen, dass es das Gesicht Gottes ist.
All ihr herrlichen Wesenheiten, die ihr auch in den Fallen eurer eigenen Unsicherheiten, eurer eigenen kleinlichen Gedanken gefangen habt, ihr seid weit größer als die Spiele, die ihr gespielt habt, die die erhabene Schönheit, die ihr seid, tief unter euren Illusionen versteckt gehalten haben. Wenn ihr nur wüsstet, wie machtvoll und herrlich ihr seid, dann würdet ihr euch nicht derartig verfluchen oder richten oder begrenzen, wie ihr es tut
Zu Euch komme ich – und ich bin alles, was ihr gewesen seid und alles, was ihr sein werdet – um euch zu helfen, das Wissen, das ihr ja bereits besitzt, zu neuem Leben zu entfachen, damit ihr euch niemals wieder selbst verliert und in Schuldgefühlen und Angst und Selbstverleugnung “wälzt”. Ihr seid in der Tat weit überragender als all dies.
Warum wird dies getan? Weil ihr geliebt werdet – großartiger als ihr euch diese Liebe je vorgestellt habt. Und weil es für den Menschen an der Zeit ist, mit einem umfassenderen Verstehen zu leben als mit jenem, das ihm seine Freiheit genommen, Völker gespalten und Hass zwischen Liebenden und Krieg zwischen Nationen verursacht hat. Es ist an der Zeit, dass der Mensch weiß, dass er göttlich ist, und aufhört, auf dieser Ebene mühselig ums Leben zu kämpfen. Und damit ihr als ein Geschlecht von Wesenheiten in dieser Form fortfahren könnt, ist es notwendig, dass ihr sowohl von eurer Göttlichkeit erfahrt, also auch von der eines jeden anderen.
Diese Lehre ist kein religiöser Lehrsatz. Sie ist einfach Wissen. Sie ist Liebe. Ich werde euch hineinlieben in das Kennen von Gott und in das Werden zu der grenzenlosen Liebe und Freude des Gottes, der in euch lebt.
Es gibt keine andere Erlösung für die Menschheit, als sich ihrer Göttlichkeit bewusst zu werden. Ihr seid die Samenkörner dieser Bewusstwerdung. Denkt über das nach, was gesagt wurde. Wenn ihr das tut, Gedanke für Gedanke, Gefühl für Gefühl, Augenblick für Augenblick, werdet ihr wieder eure Größe, eure Macht und eure Herrlichkeit verstehen.
